Update on Mid-South Farm in Gin Show.

We are back from the Mid-South Farm and Gin Show hosted in Memphis.  Thanks to all who dropped by our booth.  There was considerable interest in many of the product's and services we offer to the ginning community.

We are taking orders for 2016. I encourage you to get your order in as early as possible. What this does is get you on the waiting list and put you at the top of the list for delivery dates if you order early.  All of our parts are time-consuming to make because of the precision machine work that goes into them. They are not parts made from a casting that have very little machining done on them. We are taking orders for the following:

Gin Ribs.

Continental Ribs:
Continental Ribs are all Game Changer ribs now, with the tweaked profile to help with seed discharge, and increased capacity. We offer 141, 161, and 181 Models.  The 161 also fits the 201 Gin Stand.

Lummus:
158, 116, 170 Model Ribs.

Consolidated:
164/198/184/222 Model Ribs.

All Vandergriff Ribs are made in the USA from steel forgings and CNC machined.  No one can compete with their strength and precision, a must when dealing with little seed varieties and denser seed rolls with high horsepower driving it.

Conversions:
We can convert your 161 gin stand to a 181 gin stand. This will significantly increase your capacity, prevent loss of little seed, and do a better job of cleaning the seed. We can also convert your 141 to a 161 or 181 saw gin stand.  These conversions are now proven, and the parts we use to convert these stands are second to none. Vandergriff Inc. is the pioneer in gin stand conversions, and of course led to move to the narrower saw spacings now becoming more and more commonplace in the industry.

181 Game Changer Conversions

Vandergriff 181 Game Changer Conversion.


Vandergriff Inc has led the industry in the move to narrower saw spacings and gin stand conversions. The first 181 conversion was done by A.L. Vandergriff at Elbow Gin in Visalia, CA in 1996.  Since then, we have developed a "game changer," rib, and worked with Namoi Co-op in Australia to convert over 30 161 gin stands to 181's.

In 2014, we converted 2 Continental 161 Gin Stands to 181's at Moseley's Gin and Whse. in Abbeville, AL.  These gin stands have run trouble free for 2 seasons now, and can easily gin at 22 BPH.

Not just anyone can "convert" gin stands. Some are finding this out right now. It requires precision machine work on the rib rail.  This same rail has to be installed properly.  Any sloppy work in this area, and the conversion is just not going to gin like it should. Finally, we have our game changer rib.  It is CNC machined from Domestic 1018 closed die steel forging (not inferior Chinese steel) and simply can not be duplicated by the competition.  It is strong. It is accurate. It will hold up to the stresses and strains 200 HP and higher motors will apply to them. They will not lose little seed. The profile change promotes better seed discharge, which keeps the roll looser and allows you to go on up with capacity.

Vandergriff Ribs For Consolidated Stands.

We are now offerering a Vandergriff Rib for Consolidated 164/198/184/ and 222 saw gin stands.

The production process to get this rib made is exactly like we use on all other Vandergriff Gin Ribs.  Ribs are machined from 1018 Steel.  They are accurate from rib to rib.  No loss of little seed.  No nagging troubles.  We continue to hear stories of how bad their 184 and 222 rib performed.  We are here to step in with a quality rib to fill this void.  These stands are a "Product of Vandergriff Research."  Its only right we offer a Vandergriff Rib for you to install in it.

How to change out Wearplates in Vandy Gin Rib.

 

 

This is a short video on how to easily and safely change out wearplates.

 

 

Take the breast off and lay it down...drive out wearplates using punch. Then turn over breast like in video to replace or turn-round the wearplate.  This is the safest, and most efficient way to do this.  The area where the wearplate is located is the weakest on the rib due to the notch that is cut out to install the wearplate.  Banging hard in this area is dangerous.
